Onboarding

Launch faster with the right assets.

Use this checklist before the build starts. It keeps content, DNS, analytics, and final approvals from becoming launch-week surprises.

Customer handoff

One folder, one access list, one final approval path.

The fastest launches happen when brand assets, contact details, service boundaries, proof, domain access, analytics ownership, and final approvals are gathered before production begins.

Recommended delivery

  1. Upload files to one shared Google Drive or Dropbox folder.
  2. Send access notes for registrar, DNS, analytics, and Google profiles separately.
  3. Review the staging link on desktop and mobile.
  4. Approve the launch window after final content and form testing.

Checklist

What to collect before launch

If an item does not exist yet, say so. The important part is knowing the gap early enough to choose a workaround.

Required 01

Business identity

The legal and visual basics that make the site credible.

  • Logo files: SVG preferred, plus high-resolution PNG with transparent background if available
  • Business name as it should appear on the site
  • License number, registration number, and trade certifications that should be public
  • Year founded
Required 02

Contact & hours

Where leads go, when customers can reach you, and what gets published.

  • Primary phone number for click-to-call buttons
  • Lead inbox email address for contact form notifications
  • Physical address, or confirmation that the site should show service area only
  • Business hours by day, including emergency or after-hours rules
Required 03

Service areas

The geography we should optimize for and the boundaries we should not overpromise.

  • Primary city and county
  • List of cities, towns, or neighborhoods you serve
  • Travel radius or emergency-service boundaries
  • Areas you do not serve, if there are edge cases
Required 04

Services & project fit

The work you want more of and the work that should be filtered out.

  • Top services in priority order
  • One-line description for each service
  • Typical project size, minimum job size, or price range if you want it published
  • Service-specific photos when available
Required 05

Photos & proof

Real-world trust signals that separate the site from generic contractor templates.

  • 10 or more job photos, ideally including before-and-after sets
  • Owner headshot and team photos if they should appear on the site
  • At least three testimonials or review links from Google, Facebook, Yelp, or email
  • Permission confirmation for any customer names, addresses, or recognizable property details
Launch access 06

Domain & DNS

Access needed to point the live domain at the finished site.

  • Current domain name and registrar login owner
  • DNS host access, or a temporary invite to update DNS records
  • Approval to configure www and root-domain records
  • Any existing email records that must remain untouched
Launch access 07

Analytics & ownership

Measurement accounts should belong to the customer, not the builder.

  • Google Analytics account owner email, or approval for us to create one for transfer
  • Google Search Console owner email
  • Google Business Profile link if the business has one
  • Any existing tracking tags that must be preserved or removed
Final signoff 08

Launch approvals

The written yes/no checks before the site becomes public.

  • Final approval of business name, phone number, email, hours, and service areas
  • Final approval of license, insurance, and disclaimer wording
  • Final approval of homepage, service pages, contact form, and mobile layout
  • Confirmed launch window and rollback contact
Optional 09

Useful extras

Not required for launch, but helpful for stronger conversion and future content.

  • Short intro video or owner message
  • Detailed project stories for future case studies
  • Association, manufacturer, or warranty logos
  • Social links such as Facebook or Instagram

Final approval

Nothing goes live without a written go-ahead.

Before DNS changes, we confirm the live phone number, lead inbox, published hours, service areas, license language, analytics account, contact form behavior, and preferred launch window.

Send the launch folder

Collect the assets. We handle the launch.

Send one shared folder plus any private access notes. We'll confirm what is ready, what is missing, and what can wait.
